The other day we were using the toaster oven, and without anyplace else to put it on the counter it ended up right near the edge. Naturally Haden got in trouble for trying to touch it. After reaching for it Danielle told him "Haden! Don't touch that it's hot!"
She found him a few minutes later blowing up at it like he blows on his food to cool it off. Ha!

Prankster
Haden pulled his first prank a few days ago, ha!
He took Danielle's giant water bottle and ran behind the couch with it, and sat back there giggling for a little bit. We didn't think much of it, just that maybe he thought he was being all sneaky hiding with her water.
Later that afternoon when she took a drink from it she got a mouth full of apple bits.
Gotta love little boys. :-)

Spitting, oh noes!
Haden seems to have an issue with spitting. For some reason spitting is the one thing he cannot resist doing. He gets time out, smacked on the hand, cups taken away, you name it. And every time he gets punished he acts like it's the first time it's ever happened. *sigh...*
It is kind of funny though, because it shows he's got guts. He knows what's coming, and sometimes he's openly defiant about his spitting. But you know a kid is an individual with guts when they look at you, think for a second, and do what they want anyway. Not that I'm promoting rebelliousness, but I'd much rather have a child who thinks for himself than a cookie cutter kid. :-)
Oh, the punishments will continue, and hopefully one day we won't have to scrub milk out of the carpet anymore, but until then I'll grin and bear it. :-)

congrats kellen and lela on the boy!! they're totally fun, extremely energetic, and will destroy your house if you let them. it's worth it though. they really are great.
haden has been doing really well. he's talking and has several words and even occasionally some phrases. think i'm going to make a list and post them sometime. he also likes us to read to him now! yey! we've been trying to get him to sit still for books but he never would until just recently, so we're very excited about that.
well, that's all for now. have a good day!!

iPhone Posts Working!
I just got blogger to accept posts from my phone!! Woohoo!!(Though the pictures look a little funny) :-)
Chuck-E-Cheez
We went to Chuck-E-Cheez yesterday for our nephew's birthday. It was insane. :-)
Really though, we did have fun, and played games for tickets (which we forgot to spend) and ate pizza and did presents and everything. Haden wasn't quite sure what to make of the giant rat in the picture, but he didn't seem to mind it either. Overall, a good time was had by everyone and we eventually had to leave once Haden got stimulation overload. He went crazy and the second we walked outside he was calm and happy again. Guess there's only so much a little mind can take at once. :-)

Texas History
Saturday we went to the Texas Ranch History Museum. It was a blast! We walked around and saw a lot of old houses and things that people used to live back in the 18-1900's. It was an outside museum too, with concrete sidewalks going everywhere in a circuit so you could follow the history as it happened.
Oh, and we took pictures next to a GINORMOUS steam-powered train too! It was way fun! (I'll try to post a pic later). :-)
